Over Easter, we laced up our boots in the village of Čilipi and set out along the old footpath toward Močići, where the scent of spring herbs lined the trail and history waited quietly among the pines. The highlight was the Mithraeum — a rocky shrine to the ancient Persian god Mithras, tucked away as it has been since the 2nd to 4th centuries AD, a reminder that these hills have cradled travellers and worshippers for millennia. Continuing toward Zvekovica, we passed stone churches, glimpses of traditional Konavle embroidery in local displays, and the timeless rural scenes that still shape life here. Fields and woodland merged into coastal views, the Easter light casting a golden hue on every stone wall — a hike that stitched together nature, heritage, and the artistry of folk crafts in one unforgettable route.
