Just before Easter, we found ourselves in the charming Austrian border town of Kittsee, drawn there by the irresistible pull of the Hauswirth Chocolate Factory. The air inside was thick with the scent of cocoa, and we watched wide-eyed as molten chocolate flowed into moulds, becoming the glossy bunnies, giant eggs, and the famous “Schoko Bananen” that would soon brighten Easter tables across Austria.. Outside, Kittsee’s pastel houses and blossoming trees made the perfect backdrop for a slow, happy stroll before heading home with a sugar-sparked smile.
