In the heart of Bratislava, the Sharpe Festival transformed the former chemistry high school of Nová Cvernovka into a cultural nexus, pulsating with the lifeblood of music and artistry in late April. The festival’s lineup was a testament to its reputation for diversity and dynamism. MTOTHEG set the rhythm with electrifying beats, while Flunder offered a rare acoustic serenade within the Library’s scholarly walls, their strings resonating with the silent stories of the books around them. Ida The Young and Kris Krimm infused the venue with their vibrant energy and innovative sounds. The international flair was unmistakable as Mayssa Jalad brought her Lebanese lyrical poetry to the stage, and Aemak from Ireland captivated with her ethereal vocal tapestry. Dominik Prok, the pride of Nova Cvernovka, spun aural magic, proving that local legends can leave an indelible mark. Hyphen Dash’s performance was a tribute to the unyielding spirit of Ukraine, and Faye’s voice was a siren call to the soul. Žen from Croatia and Mink from Austria wrapped up the festival, leaving echoes of their melodies long after the final note had faded.
