Cycling from Arrecife to Costa Teguise is a scenic and enjoyable ride along the coast, with plenty of attractions to see along the way. One of the most striking landmarks is the Telamon, a huge cargo ship that ran aground on the coast of Lanzarote in 1981. It has been there ever since, slowly rusting and decaying. It is a popular spot for photographers and curious visitors, but also a reminder of the environmental impact of human activity. Another interesting spot is Las Caletas, a suburban area that was built as a result of its proximity to Playa Ensenada de Las Caletas and thanks to its prime location between the capital and the tourist resort2 Here you can find a variety of restaurants, pubs and hotels, as well as a hidden beach and a cultural center. Finally, you will reach Los Juguetes de Erjos, another metal sculpture by José Abad that features three abstract forms on the mole of Costa Teguise. This work is inspired by the toys that the artist used to make as a child in Erjos, a rural village in Tenerife. Los Juguetes de Erjos are an iconic symbol of the best windsurfing area on Lanzarote and a reminder of the playful spirit of the island.
